President Obama is popular in Communist Cuba, according to a new Univision/Fusion poll released today.

Obama enjoys an 80 percent favorability rating, according to the poll, making him twice as popular in Cuba as Raul Castro, who currently has a 47 percent approval rating.

The president is expected to meet with Castro during his trip to Panama for the Summit of the Americas.

Fifty-five percent of Cubans said that they wanted to live in another country – 52 percent choosing the United States as their preferred destination.

Only 19 percent said that they were satisfied with the economy in Cuba and 32 percent rated the Communist Party in a positive fashion.

The poll was conducted by Miami-based research firm Bendixen & Amandi without the authorization of the Cuban government, according to Fusion, in all 13 provinces of the island.

The opinion poll claims a margin of error of 2.8 percent, with a 95 percent confidence level.
