“It was so exciting to be at the NRA convention – I was honored to cut the ribbon and open the show,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn said in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.

Blackburn’s home state of Tennessee hosted the annual NRA Convention over the weekend.

“Families came together to that event and it was really quite remarkable to see several generations of a family making a trip out of that event,” the Republican said.

She said the families were there to defend their rights as Americans and to express their opinions.

Adding that the NRA attendees wanted to hear GOP leaders and Republican candidates say they believe in the American dream and the opportunity for all – and that they will fight for it.

Blackburn suggested that is the problem with Hillary Clinton – implying that her record doesn’t show she is tough enough to fight for the American dream.

Blackburn predicted that by end of Sunday night, the doors at the NRA convention may have topped nearly 80,000 people.
