Report: Koch Brothers Support Scott Walker for President

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has won the Koch Brothers primary.

On Monday, David Koch reportedly told donors at a Manhattan fundraiser for the New York State Republican Party that he and his brother Charles believe Walker gives Republicans the best chance to take back the White House, according to a New York Times report.

“We will support whoever the candidate is,” David Koch reportedly said. “But it should be Scott Walker.”

As the Times noted, nearly all of the 2016 GOP candidates “have aggressively courted the Kochs,” the libertarian-leaning brothers who control a network of center-right political organizations like Americans for Prosperity and super PACs that are reportedly planning “to spend almost $900 million over the next two years advancing conservative candidates and policies.”

As Breitbart News has reported, in recent years, the Koch brothers have also funded various pro-amnesty initiatives, including a BuzzFeed event on comprehensive amnesty legislation and efforts to “aid illegal immigrants by offering English classes, health checkups, and courses to help Spanish-speakers earn high school diplomas.”

According to the Times, while David Koch suggested that the numerous organizations the Koch brothers oversee “would not intervene in the Republican primary process on behalf of a single candidate,” he reportedly “indicated that the Koch family might personally offer financial support” to Walker.
