Shots Fired, One In Custody After Attempted Unauthorized Access to Little Rock Air Force Base

An “active threat” in the form of attempted unauthorized access to the Little Rock Air Force Base resulted in shots fired, leaving one suspect in the hospital and a second suspect in custody.

The base is located in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

According to Fox 16, the incident happened outside the main gate to the base.

Details have not been released, but at 9:15 AM the Jacksonville Police Department posted the following announcement:

Base security personnel are responding to an incident at the base gate. All base gates are currently closed to traffic. All personnel and visitors are advised to stay away of the from the main gate area until further notice.

THV 11 reports that official’s commenting on the situation said the condition of the person with injuries is “unknown.” They made clear, however, that the injured person “is not a member of the military.”
