Donald Trump is the only GOP candidate to make his formal presidential announcement on Periscope, helping him trend worldwide on Twitter and Social Media during his speech.
Trump – a celebrity real estate mogul – announced in New York City Tuesday that he is running for president.
“Mr. Trump was the most searched Republican Presidential candidate in every state in the country,” stated a press release sent Wednesday.
According to Trump’s campaign, “3.4 million Facebook users in the US generated 6.4 million interactions regarding the launch of his campaign, the highest by far, among all 2016 GOP candidates.”
His press release also states that Google Trends showed he was the most searched Republican presidential candidate in every state on Tuesday, adding that just in an “hour after his announcement his search interest was at 87%. Comparatively, another GOP candidate also launching his campaign this week, registered just 13% interest the previous day.”
Trump campaigned in Iowa after his official campaign launch, and spent Wednesday in New Hampshire.
