Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD) announced Monday he is suffering from an aggressive cancer.

He called the current state of his cancer diagnosis “very advanced” but added that he will continue to serve as governor while receiving treatment.

The 59-year-old has B-cell non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, according to the New York Times.

Hogan will undergo aggressive chemotherapy treatment for 18 weeks. Hogan said doctors have said he can be healed, but “it’s not going to be an easy thing.”

Hogan announced Monday, “I still feel good, I’ve got energy, other than I don’t have much of an appetite. I’m not tired and I’m not in terrible pain.”
