North Carolina and South Carolina beachgoers should beware; there has been a rash of shark attacks against beachgoers in their states.

On Saturday, a teenager was attacked at a beach at the Cape Hatteras KOA campground in Rodanthe, NC. According to WTKR, he has improved from critical condition to serious condition after being taken to the hospital.

On Friday, shark attacks occurred in Avon, NC, and near Hunting Island in South Carolina. The Charlotte Observer reported that the Avon attack involved a 47-year-old man who suffered bites on his leg and lower back. The Hunting Island incident involved a man swimming; he saw a shark around him and yelled, but an unseen second shark bit him.

North Carolina has seen four shark attacks recently: one when a 13-year-old girl was bitten in Ocean Isle on June 11, one last Wednesday when an eight-year-old boy was hurt in Surf City, and two in Oak Island. The separate Oak Island attacks on June 14 involved a 16-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl; each child lost an arm.
