One of the country’s top pollsters and foremost political experts compared the scandals involving the Clinton Foundation, Benghazi, and Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email address while she was secretary of state to a “metastasizing cancer” that is starting to even erode Hillary Clinton’s base.

On Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, Pat Caddell, who was a top adviser to President Jimmy Carter, told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that Clinton is swerving even further to the left on issues like amnesty and income inequality to preserve her base, which is increasingly viewing her as someone who is not “honest or trustworthy.”

Caddell, who reached his conclusions after examining in detail recent polls conducted by CNN, Washington Post/ABC News, and Fox News, said that Clinton’s move to the left, though, is actually “deepening the sense of inauthenticity” because of the moderate positions she has held on a variety of issues before her second run for the White House.

He pointed out that Clinton’s base is composed of women, young people, non-whites, particularly black voters, and even some moderates, but Clinton is seeing “massive defections” from all of those groups in recent polls. Caddell compared the numerous Clinton scandals to a “metastasizing cancer that is starting to go into her healthy cells, which she should think of as her base cells.”

Caddell noted that 61% of voters in a recent Fox News poll believed Clinton traded favors in exchange for donations to her family’s foundation, including a whopping 41% of Democrats, 59% of whites, 39% of black voters, 58% of voters without a college education, 63% of voters under 35 years of age, 67% of high-income voters, and even 46% of liberals. A CNN/ORC poll found that 57% of Americans believed that Clinton was “not honest and trustworthy” and her favorability numbers were underwater. Even in a poll that oversampled Democrats by 13 percentage points (Washington Post/ABC), 49% of respondents viewed her unfavorably.

“The groups that she must depend on get higher and higher in their opposition and disagreement with her,” Caddell said.

Caddell said revelations like those in Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer’s Clinton Cash take “longer to soak in” with core supporters because “you have to resolve conflicts.” He pointed out, though, that there are already a “substantial number of non-whites”–roughly a third–that say she is not trustworthy. Caddell added that those numbers are higher among Hispanic and Asian voters. While women voters “are barely even” on the honest and trustworthy question across the various polls, “moderates and younger voters” think Clinton is more dishonest than trustworthy, according to Caddell.

Caddell said the polls have also shown that Clinton is very vulnerable on Benghazi and her private email scandals, which voters think are “legitimate issues for this campaign.”

He predicted that though Clinton is still viewed as a “strong leader,” those numbers will also “collapse” by fall, when even more of the stories about the numerous Clinton Foundation scandals will have sunk in with her base voters. Caddell predicted that Democrats are going to “panic” when Clinton’s poll numbers tank even more, and Clinton “may be like Lyndon Johnson and the war,” while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) “is going to feel like Robert Kennedy if she doesn’t run.”

Caddell said that it is clear that Clinton’s scandals matter to voters, even though the D.C. political class, which he said “operates in its own bubble,” often tries to downplay and dismiss them. So long as lawmakers and the media “revisit and continue to probe” her numerous scandals, Clinton’s poll numbers, Caddell asserted, will continue to go south as more voters begin to distrust her.
