The Detroit mother, who murdered two of her four children and stuffed their bodies in a freezer, was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Friday.

An eviction crew found the bodies of Mitchelle Blair’s two children in a freezer in March. Only four months later, Blair has been tried, convicted, and sentenced for the murders after pleading guilty to first degree murder.

The woman claimed that she killed her 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son because of some sort of sexual abuse. Prosecutors were naturally skeptical as there was no proof of any molestation nor did Blair ever report such an incident to authorities. Ultimately, the prosecutor said that there is no evidence that any molestation ever took place.

Blair told authorities that she beat the children with a stick, scalded them with boiling water, and stuffed them into a trash bag before putting them in the freezer several years ago.

During her trial, the woman was wholly unrepentant and said it was “fine” if people thought she was a monster.

“I don’t regret none of this…. I don’t feel no remorse for the death of them demons,” she said.

Disgusted by the whole incident, Judge Dana Hathaway lashed out at Blair in court saying, “You imposed the death penalty on your own children.”

“The greatest tragedy here is that they will never know what a life is like without experiencing fearing their mother,” the judge added.

The woman’s two other children, an 8-year-old and a 17-year-old, are with a relative, but a final decision on where they will go has yet to be determined. The two have different fathers and both are angling for custody.
