Black Memphis Police Director Rebukes Black Lives Matter After White Cop Murdered

In comments to reporters covering the shooting death of a white police officer, Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong made pointed comments that question the premise of the radical anti-police group Black Lives Matter that some lives are more important than others. Director Armstrong is black.

As Breitbart News reported Memphis police officer Sean Bolton was gunned down Saturday as he investigating an illegally parked car. Memphis authorities say Bolton inadvertently interrupted a small-time drug deal when a man–who police have now ID’d as 29-year-old convicted bank robber Tremaine Wilbourn–shot him several times. A reward has been offered for the capture of Wilbourn, who is black.

Speaking to reporters, an emotional Toney Armstrong pointed out that Bolton is the third officer killed in Memphis in the last four years. He brought up the Black Lives Matter movement himself, saying:

As a community we say so often as a theme — black lives matter and at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves: do all lives matter? Regardless of race, creed, color, economic status, what profession that person holds all lives matter and this is just a reminder of how dangerous this job is.

Recently, Democrat Presidential candidate and former mayor of Balrimore Martin O’Malley was booed and then pressured by the Black Lives Matter into apologizing for saying “all lives matter” during a Q&A at progressive conference Netroots Nations. Members of Black Lives Matter had taken over the Q&A session and at one point screamed “burn everything down.”

The Black Lives Matter movement has gained political power and media attention in the last year, following their involvement in the Ferguson and Baltimore rioting. The group engages in community organizing and activism focused on what they say is an crisis of black people killed by police and a culture of “white supremacy.”

Black Lives Matter took their anti-police list of demands directly from the 1960s radical Marxist group the Black Panther’s 10 Point Platform and pays homage to convicted cop killer Assata Shakur at every event.

The Black Panthers were known for their catchphrase “off the pigs!” Assata Shakur is living in Cuba and is currently on the FBI 10 Most Wanted Terrorist list. President Obama has met with members of Black Lives Matter at the White House and recently normalized relations with Cuba, who refuse to extradite Shakur.
