CLEVELAND, Ohio: The first GOP presidential primary debate hosted by Fox News and Facebook takes place on Thursday, but ahead of the debate Facebook broke down the key political and policy issues voters are talking about on the social media website.
From May 29th to July 28th, Facebook users most talked about racial issues, Mexico, the economy, LGBT issues and immigration.
Data also found which particular presidential candidates were the most mentioned among Facebook users.
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump leads the pack among Republicans and Democrats getting more than 135 million interactions among Facebook users.
Coming in second – and not even close to Trump – is Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton with 60,640,000 interactions. Surprisingly, her competition, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) came in third, with more than half of Clinton’s interactions at a little more than 35 million interactions.
GOP candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) came in fourth, with right under 17 million, and fellow GOP contender former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush ranked fifth with just over 16 million Facebook interactions.
