Teens Arrested After Allegedly Targeting University Security Personnel with Molotov Cocktail

On September 7 three teenagers were arrested on charges of robbery and for allegedly throwing a molotov cocktail at St. Ambrose University security personnel.

The incident occurred in Davenport, Iowa, just before 3 a.m.

According to the Quad City Times, police responded “to a robbery call” and arrived to discover “one suspect enter a residence in the 2100 block of Harrison Street.” Police officers then set up a perimeter.

The three suspects holed up on the home–16-year-old Mark Lyons, 18-year-old Juan Pizano Jr., and 16-year-old Jerry Grandville–were suspected of strong arm robbery in which one of three allegedly wielded a baseball bat while the other two robbed a victim on “the 500 block of West Locust Street.”

Fleeing the scene, they allegedly threw a molotov cocktail at St. Ambrose University security personnel then reached the home on Harrison.

Davenport police say one of the three suspects surrendered “shortly” after law enforcement established a perimeter and the other two surrendered a few hours later. All three were charged with “first-degree robbery, a Class B felony; possession with intent of an incendiary device, a Class C felony; third-degree criminal mischief.”
