A convicted sex offender pleaded guilty to attacking and raping a co-worker as the victim lay helplessly convulsing in a seizure.

Richard Leese, 46, was charged with one count of first-degree felony rape in Summit County Common Pleas court where he pleaded guilty before Judge Todd McKenney.

On March 26, Leese asked a 27-year-old co-worker to assist him in getting tools from his apartment. But once Leese and his co-worker reached the apartment, the younger man fell into a seizure.

Leese chose that opportunity to attack and rape the vulnerable man, according to the victim’s statement.

The attacker has a past conviction of sexual assault. In 2007, Leese was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and inducing panic in Lima, Ohio. He served six years in prison and was released only last year.
