A Memphis man has been arrested for knowingly infecting his wife with the HIV virus.

Police report that Terrel Boyd, 38, tested positive for HIV back in 2003 but didn’t meet his wife until 2012. They married in 2013 and regularly had unprotected sex. But the wife says Boyd never told her he was HIV positive.

The woman tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS in May, and not long afterward she discovered the medications used for AIDS patients in her husband’s name in their home. She then suspected he also had HIV and confronted him.

The woman reported the incident to police, and Boyd was arrested and jailed on $10,000 bond. He stands charged with criminally exposing someone to HIV.
