Tea Party Patriots released a new video titled “Choose Wisely” after Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced Tuesday that he will run for Speaker of the House – if the conference unites behind him.

The video encourages members of the House to recognize the frustration from the American people and learn from past mistakes from leadership.

The video goes through the years since President Obama was elected president, saying that the Republican majority in Congress was overwhelmingly elected to office, but “it didn’t take long for those promises to be broken.”

“Congress became even more dysfunctional – crisis after crisis, delay after delay – deeper in debt and despair with each passing day,” the video narrator states.

The video reminds the viewer that Republican voters stayed home in 2012 because they were “fed up,” in a way to warn and foreshadow the possibility of that happening again in 2016.

It goes on to honor new leaders who emerged – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) – who are “unwavering on their promises regardless of political consequences. Now, 40 or so of these brave new leaders have brought us to the brink of real change in Congress.”

“And they’re being attacked within their own party. Yet, they stand firm on their principles unflinching insisting the next Speaker of the House make it the people’s house once more.”

“This choice cannot be taken lightly,” the narration states as the video concludes.
