The ad, which was posted Friday morning on Donald Trump’s official Instagram account, has creepy TV-music and calls Dr. Carson a “violent criminal.”
Trump is going after Carson for a passage in his autobiography, “Gifted Hands.” Carson wrote about his “pathological temperament” as a child, and said he attempted to stab a friend and also attacked his mother with a hammer.
The ad contains a clip of an interview with Carson where he describes the attempted stabbing, saying “I had a large camping knife, and I tried to stab him in the abdomen.”
The clip then shows a former neighbor. “What?” the former neighbor tells CNN in the video, suggesting that Carson’s story is not believable.
The clip then asks whether Carson is a “violent criminal” or a “pathological liar.” It concludes by stating that “We don’t need either as president”
