The City of Brotherly Love experienced an “exceptionally violent” night on Friday, with four citizens shot and one killed in four separate shooting incidents, reports say.

Gunfire erupted early on Friday morning when a man in his 20s was killed in Southwest Philly, police said. The man was shot five times and was found dead at the scene.

Police arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death. The names of the murdered man and the man arrested were not released.

Shootings continued through the morning, claiming another four victims.

The last, a woman in her 30s, was shot at 3 AM in the city’s Parkside neighborhood.

Friday’s shootings come only a week after a double homicide near Lemon Hill mansion that police determined was a “crime of passion.”

The murdered couple was having sex in the back seat of their SUV when someone walked up and opened fire.
