Syed Farook’s Family Doubts FBI’s San Bernardino Account, Questions Sandy Hook Shooting

On December 4 the family of San Bernardino gunman Syed Farook spoke through their attorney to say they doubted the FBI account regarding their son, as well as questioning the details of the heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary.

Farook’s family takes issue with claims their son’s attack was terror-based, and they are rejecting the alleged involvement of his wife, Tashfeen Malik.

According to the Daily Mail, family attorney David Chesley said:

There have been suggestions that it may be something that was related to their work, that somehow he was a disgruntled employee. But it doesn’t seem plausible to us that this petite woman [Malik] would be involved in this sort of hyper-caricatured, Bonnie and Clyde crazy scenario.

Chesley then shifted to the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary, saying, “There were a lot of questions drawn with Sandy Hook and whether or not that was a real incident or not.” Chesley did not deny that evidence was found at Sandy Hook, nor did he deny that evidence was found in Farook’s apartment following the San Bernardino shooting, but he suggested questions remain in both instances as to how the evidence got there.

FBI agents reported the discovery of a “huge arsenal” in Farook’s home. The arsenal included “nearly 5,000 rounds of ammunition, a dozen pipe bombs and hundreds of tools for making IEDs at the… home” where Farook and Malik lived.
