Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton accused Rev. Jerry Falwell Jr. of giving “aid and comfort” to the ISIS jihadis by suggesting that Muslims are linked to Islamic jihadi terrorism.

“I’ve always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in and killed them,” said Falwell Jr., the Christian Right pastor and the president of his late father’s college, Liberty University.

Clinton seized on the chance to attack the namesake of a controversial religious conservative figure. “Don’t forget he said this, George. He said, that way, we can take out the Muslims,” Clinton said in a Sunday show interview with ABC host George Stephanopoulos.

“He said that, OK? This is the kind of deplorable, not only hateful response to a legitimate security issue but it is giving aid and comfort to ISIS and other radical jihadists,” she insisted.

But Falwell had already clarified his statement by saying he was talking about jihadis, not peaceful Muslims, according to the Washington Post.

Falwell said that when he referred to ‘those Muslims,’ he was referring to Islamic terrorists, specifically those behind the attacks in Paris and in San Bernardino. ‘That’s the only thing I would clarify…  If I had to say what I said again, I’d say exactly the same thing.

Falwell aside, numerous other conservatives including Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have criticized gun-free zones for making people less safe. Cruz recently declared “You stop bad guys by using our guns.”
