Conservative radio host Steve Deace posted on social media that GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina was using the gender card after the GOP primary debate on Tuesday night, but it was his use of the “v-word” that caused the post on Twitter to make headlines. Deace is calling his tweet “stupid and asinine.”

“Wow….Fiorina goes full vagina right away,” Deace posted on Twitter. He was responding to the list of obstacles Fiorina said she encountered during her time as CEO at Hewlett-Packard.

Deace, who has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for president, quickly apologized.

“@amydeace tells me while on point about point about Carly and gender card I was too vulgar and need to apologize,” Deace posted on Twitter.

Fiorina responded to Deace’s comment saying, “I’ve been called the B-word, so now I guess I’m going to be called the V-word.”

What’s amazing to me is I told an American story last night in my opening comments. I told my story, just like every other candidate has told their story. So it’s inexplicable to me why this major surrogate of Ted Cruz thought that was playing the ‘V’ card. But the more important point is this, this gentleman is more than a radio show talk host. He is a major surrogate for Ted Cruz and a major endorser, and this is why Ted Cruz cannot possibly beat Hillary Clinton. … Ted Cruz relies on him to speak for him. In fact, he was speaking for Ted Cruz last night. So, this is the Cruz campaign, and I think we need to be realistic about what we’re going to face with Hillary Clinton.

Fox News reported about the post on Twitter a number of times, leading Deace to comment on the media coverage, saying, “Apparently Fox has now run a second mention of my stupid and asinine tweet. Which is why I apologized for it mere moments after.”
