Immigration officials reported last week that in 2015 they detained and started deportation procedures for 175 illegal aliens arrested as sexual predators in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia.

“With nearly 200 sexual predator aliens out of our communities, our children are more protected, and our society is safer,” Tom Decker, director of enforcement and removal operations for the Philadelphia-based ICE office serving the three-state region, said at a press conference on January 7.

Arrests in Pittsburgh, for instance, included a 28-year-old illegal Haitian convicted of involuntary sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old and rape. Another case involved a 46-year-old Mexican who re-entered the country illegally and was subsequently convicted of fourth-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment.

The ICE news conference was held at the same time as shocking news that large groups of “refugees” spent New Year’s night marauding through Cologne, Germany, raping and sexually molesting women at will.

This week, it was reported that the number of abuse and rape reports in the German town have now reached 516 cases.

The growing evidence of just how bad the attacks were is causing German officials tobegin rethinking their refugee policy and forcing German authorities to begin talking about the phenomenon of “Taharrush”—the practice where large gangs of Muslim men attack and even rape women during major events.

Unfortunately, in the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security hasn’t always been as effective in apprehending and deporting violent criminals despite news of the sweep mentioned above. In fact, only about three months ago, DHS had to admit that it failed to alert state officials that it was releasing thousands of illegal aliens convicted of violent criminal offenses back into the population of states across the country.
