Former Breitbart News editor Larry O’Connor played a prominent role in Saturday night’s GOP debate, asking a videotaped question culled from suggestions by readers of the Independent Journal Review, which co-sponsored the debate.

O’Connor was joined by Mary Katherine Ham in representing the conservative media at the debate.

O’Connor asked:

In 2008, we saw how motivated an electorate can be when they think their vote is making history. Let’s face it: if Hillary Clinton is the nominee for the Democrats. you’ll be running against the prospect of the first woman president. How will you change that narrative and motivate the electorate behind your candidacy?

In his reply, billionaire frontrunner Donald Trump said: “We’ve created a movement … we will galvanize the people of this country and we will beat Hillary Clinton.” Sen. Marco Rubio emphasized that the 2016 election would bring voters out to decide ” a referendum on our identity as a nation and as a people.” Dr. Ben Carson emphasized the weakness of Hillary Clinton as a candidate, saying she is “someone who is known as a deceitful individual … I would simply make it a referendum between honesty and integrity versus deceit and the Washington way.”
