Donald Trump said he is the “strongest” candidate on the Second Amendment, during an impromptu Feb. 15 press conference in Hanahan, South Carolina.

Trump has pushed concealed-carry as part of the solution to threats of terror in the U.S. and around the world.

According to Fox Business, Trump told reporters in Hanahan, “I am the strongest person running in favor of the Second Amendment. I am a member of the NRA.”

Breitbart News previously reported Trump is a lifetime member of the the NRA and a concealed carry permit holder. Speaking to Ammoland in July 2015, Trump said:

I am a Life Member of the NRA and am proud of their service in protecting our right to keep and bear arms. The NRA’s efforts to stop dangerous, gun-banning legislation and regulation is invaluable. The media focus on those efforts overshadows the great work the NRA does on behalf of safety and conservation.

Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are also members of the NRA. In August 2015, Mother Jones quoted Trump, saying, “My sons love to hunt. They are members of the NRA, very proudly. I am a big believer in the second amendment. My sons are hunters. Eric is a hunter. He puts it on a par with golf — ahead of golf. And my other son is a hunter. They are great marksmen, great shots.”
