Maine’s Republican Gov. Paul LePage announced he’s endorsing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Friday on the Howie Carr radio show.

“One thing I like about Donald Trump–I’m not going to say I agree with him on everything–he’s the only candidate who’s showing a vision for the future,” LePage said.

“I’ll be very honest, originally I said I’d like to see a governor. But unfortunately the American people are not going for a governor this year so I’m going to endorse Donald Trump,” LePage said. “And I think the reasons why are very similar. I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular. So I think I should support him since we’re one of the same cloth.”

LePage had originally endorsed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for the Republican presidential nomination before Christie dropped out of the race.
