Police in the city of Alliance, Ohio, took to Facebook to ask its 22,000 followers to “please stop calling” an alleged meth dealer’s cell phone while they track down potential drug buyers.

“PLEASE STOP CALLING Steve Notman’s cell phone. He was arrested tonight by SIU detectives….again…. for ALLEGEDLY (on video) selling crystal meth here in Alliance,” the City of Alliance Police Department said late Monday on Facebook.

“We have his phone and are trying to read all your texts requesting drugs and going through all of his contacts (with his permission) but you keep calling and texting and it’s really annoying,” the message continued.

Alliance Police went so far as to inform its Facebook audience that the suspect, Steve Notman, doesn’t have any drugs left to sell.

“First of all, he is all out of drugs for tonight,” the post read, adding that “Secondly you don’t need to call – we will come to you soon enough.”

The post also noted, jokingly, that “his ringtone is terrible!”

In January 2013, law enforcement in Alliance, Ohio, launched an aggressive “war on meth” in response to a spike in manufacturing and distribution of the addictive drug in the city and surrounding counties.
