On Memorial Day, a Walmart customer chased down an alleged purse snatcher, pulled a firearm, and held the suspect at gunpoint in the parking lot.
The incident during the afternoon at a Walmart in Wichita, Kansas.
According to KWCH, police said a woman was loading groceries in her car when the suspect “snatched” the woman’s purse from her grocery cart. The suspect then took off running while witnesses gave chase. At some point during the chase, an armed customer drew his firearm and cornered the suspect, holding him at gunpoint until police arrived.
Police arrested the suspect on theft charges.
The woman from whom the purse was stolen “said she was appreciative of the assistance from the customers who helped her catch the suspected thief.”
