Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Environment Karnig Ohannessian is under investigation after a video emerged that appears to show him pointing a handgun at two men outside his home.

Ohannessian claims the two men were “drunk and making noise.”

According to CBS News, one of the two men captured the incident on his cell phone and can be heard asking Ohannessian to quit pointing a gun. The identified man said, “You’re pointing a gun at my friend, this is a criminal offense, so please stop it.”

Inside Edition reports that Ohannessian said “the young men he confronted were drunk and causing a ruckus in front of his house.” The video of the incident shows a woman–reportedly Ohannessian’s wife–step between him and the two men at one point to try to de-escalate the situation.

After the woman steps back out of the picture one of the two men can be heard saying, “Be thankful you have a gun man. It shows what kind of a [expletive] you are.” The mother of one of the two men called police and “Ohannessian was briefly detained before being released.”

The Navy released a statement, saying, “Mr. Ohannessian’s supervisor is taking the appropriate action to include working to understand the full details of what occurred.”
