CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thursday from the floor of the Republican National Convention, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) gave this presidential cycle’s GOP convention high marks.
Sessions, who was sitting with the Alabama delegation, told Breitbart News that Trump’s “unusual campaign” resonated with the American people and that’s reflected by his political success thus far.
“It’s an absolute thrill – it’s a special, special time,” Sessions said. “I think Trump has run an unusual campaign that went straight to the heart of Middle America. And people responded. He’s talked about things they cared about. People are not happy with the trade deals and they’re right not to. They want a lawful system of immigration. They’ve been ignored, rejected, kicked around. He gave respect and strength to that argument and went straight to the top.”
Sessions back in February was the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump and on Tuesday formally nominated Trump for the party’s presidential nomination.
