On September 13, the dating site “Concealed Carry Match” (CCM) tweeted an invitation for single gun enthusiasts to join the site and find their “adorable #deplorable.”

The tweet came just days after anti-gun presidential candidate Hillary Clinton referred to Donald Trump supporters as a “basket of deplorables.”

CCM played up Clinton’s whole statement, tweeting: “Find your adorable #deplorable. We’ve got a whole basket full. Use code DEPLORABLE for your first week for $5.”

CCM is a dating site that launched in August. It is owned by Jim Minthorn and headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan. The site’s webpage says Minthorn “came up with the idea for this site because he loves guns, loves family and believes that everyone who loves guns or supports the Second Amendment should have a fun, safe place online to meet others.”

CCM advertises itself as “a respectful, safe, and unique online community fostering relationships between like-minded individuals.”

It’s mission:

The right to own and carry a concealed weapon as a responsible gun owner does not need to interfere with finding an individual who shares some of your core values. We help take the guesswork out of finding individuals who complement your lifestyle, whether you own a gun or just believe in this Second Amendment right.

But of course your search does not just begin and end there. Learn more about potential dates through pictures, chat and detailed profiles.

According to the International Business Times, CCM “reportedly registered opening-day traffic of 10,000 interested visitors” during last month’s launch. It “offers a paid membership, ranging from $10 weekly to $150 for a year.”

It is interesting to note CCM stresses that you don’t have to be a gun owner to use their site. Under the FAQ tab, the site says: “Perhaps you are a gun owner, or maybe you like the idea of dating someone who is a concealed carry permit owner. Whatever the case may be, all are welcome to explore and join Concealed Carry Match.”
