Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert told syndicated radio talk show host Howie Carr that Islamic terrorists will continue to be a threat as long as officials in the federal government continue to take advice from operatives from the Muslim Brotherhood.
Carr asked Gohmert about the man arrested for Saturday’s bombings in New York City and Elizabeth, N.J., Ahmad Rahami, and the many signals missed by law enforcement.
“He slaps his mother, he stabs his brother, his father calls the FBI and says he’s a terrorist,” Carr said. “How many more red flags do they need?”
Gohmert said, “There will never be enough red flags–as long as we are taking guidance from Muslim Brotherhood operatives, who are advising this administration, advising the State Department, advising Homeland Security, advising our intelligence.”
The congressman said a prime example happened a few years ago, when a couple of experts on radical Islam were scheduled to host a training conference on how to identify and monitor Islamic radicals.
To control what is taught and not taught in regards to radical Islam, the Texan said the administration published new rules that require all instructors dealing with radical Islam to be certified by the Muslim Brotherhood, through advisory councils that also approve training materials and curriculum.
After Gohmert and former Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann started reviewing training materials, the Obama administration classified the materials to prevent him and Bachmann from telling people what was inside, he said.
“It is classified, so I can’t tell you what was in there, but I can tell you there were verses from the Koran,” Gohmert said.
After the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, the former Texas state judge told Carr that he pressed FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III on the FBI’s failure to stop the Tsarnaev brothers.
Gohmert said the Russians told American intlligence twice that the brothers were trouble, but all the FBI did was approach them and ask they if they were terrorists. They said no.
“You didn’t even conclude your investigation,” Gohmert said he told Mueller. No one from the FBI went to their mosque. In fact, the very same mosque was part of the Boston FBI office’s outreach program to make sure the FBI did not offend Muslims.
Another example was a senior advisor to then-Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano, who downloaded classified information and tried to sell the information to national news magazines. Gohmert said he knew the man from Texas and was aware of his devotion to the Iranian revolution and the legacy of the Ayatollah Khomeini, but he was ignored.
Finally, Gohmert said the man was fired after he tweeted about a series of beheadings in the Middle East telling Americans they need to accept that the international caliphate is coming.
“Those kinds of people are all over this administration,” he said.
