Reports: Donald Trump Selects Dan Coats as Director of National Intelligence

President-elect Donald Trump has selected former Indiana senator Dan Coats as his choice to serve as the Director of National Intelligence, according to reports.

Coats served in the Bush administration as an ambassador to Germany, and he served as Senator of Indiana in two separate terms. He retired in 2015, announcing that he would not seek re-election in 2016.
