Police say they are searching for a teenager who tried to rape and threaten an 11-year-old boy with a knife in a Bronx park last Tuesday.

The victim told police that a teenager tried to grope him and demanded money in an attempt to rob him around 3:15 p.m. May 30 on Magenta Street, the New York Daily News reported.

The attacker said he had a knife, put his arm around the boy, and forced the 11-year-old to walk with him three blocks to Bronx Park, police said.

WPIX reported that the attacker pulled down the boy’s pants and forced him to the ground, but the boy fought off his attacker, and the older boy fled the scene.

Officials say the teenager punched his victim in the face, but the young boy was not seriously injured.

Police released images Saturday of the suspect with his arm around the boy walking down Magenta Street.

Police say the suspect is between the ages of 17 and 19, light-skinned, thin-built, and has braces. The suspect was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, white and blue sneakers, and light blue jeans.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information on the attacker to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
