An Illinois bar manager who grew tired of the unfinished construction near his business is giving construction workers a little extra incentive to get their work done.

Zak Rotello, food and beverage manager at the Olympic Tavern in Rockford, decided to put up a sign offering the Illinois Department of Transportation workers free beer if by Monday they complete their construction along the road where the restaurant is located, KWQC reported.

“Free beer for IDOT crew if roadwork is done by Mon.,” the sign read.

“The guys working on the street thought it was hilarious,” Rotello said, but “no official response from IDOT and, no, they’re still not done.”

A photo of the sign went viral on Reddit, where users upvoted the sign and shared similar stories of never-ending construction in their neighborhoods.

The construction has been taking place for more than two years and is slated to be finished at some point next year, according to KMOV.

The sidewalk and one of the bar’s entrances have been closed due to the construction and are expected to reopen within a week.
