President Donald Trump does not have plans to meet with Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, despite telling reporters he would do so.

“No, there are no planned meetings at this time,” Sanders replied when Breitbart News asked about a possible meeting between Moore and the president before leaving for his trip to Asia.

On October 16, Trump told reporters he planned to meet with Moore “next week,” pointing out that the Alabama candidate ran a “very strong race” in the Republican primary against Sen. Luther Strange.

“The people of Alabama, who I like very much, and they like me very much … but they like Roy, and we’ll be talking to him, and I can report to you then, okay?” he told reporters.

Moore visited Capitol Hill on Tuesday, prompting media questions about his comments about Muslims and Christianity.

Republican senators welcomed Moore to their weekly lunch.
