Watch: Pro-Life Student Allegedly Assaulted Outside Planned Parenthood Clinic

A 15-year-old pro-life student was allegedly assaulted outside a Planned Parenthood clinic while she and her group were providing support and resources about alternatives to abortion to women entering the building.

On Saturday morning, several Students for Life of America (SFLA) members of Liberty University were “sidewalk counseling” outside of the Planned Parenthood facility in Roanoke, Virginia. According to SFLA, the students gather weekly outside of the clinic on Saturdays, the day that location performs abortions, praying for women who enter the building and offering them alternative solutions to abortion. The students, SFLA reports, were standing away from the entrance to the building.

Witnesses report that a woman confronted the SFLA leaders and began threatening them, saying she would beat them up and “f**k them up.”

“This is our property,” the SFLA student allegedly said to the woman, according to the video, referring to the public property on which the students were standing.

“Yeah, and it’s my property, too,” the woman responded.

According to the report, the as yet unidentified woman first stole a sign from one of the SFLA leaders that read, “All people are made in the image of God.” When that occurred, the students began to record the exchange with the woman, who walked away at first, but then returned and attempted to take another sign.

The woman then allegedly punched a 15-year-old SFLA high school fellow in the face, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground. The other students called the police and the student who was allegedly struck was taken to a hospital.

“This act of violence against a group of peaceful pro-life students who were outside a Planned Parenthood facility offering love and support to pregnant women serves as a sad reflection on the state of debate today,” said SFLA president Kristan Hawkins. “It’s horrific that a minor expressing love for pregnant women was targeted for violence. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident.”
