Members of the Trump family reportedly failed in their efforts to vote in the New York City mayoral election last month, with members botching their absentee ballots in one way or another.

Officials at the city’s Board of Elections told the New York Daily News that the ballot for the president was fine until the Daily News noted that he had got his birthday wrong by a month. It was not clear if that error affected his vote or not.

First lady Melania Trump, meanwhile, did not sign the envelope in which she put the ballot, meaning it would not have been counted. An official told the outlet that the ballot is invalid if any of the information is missing, and notes that there are directions telling voters to be sure to sign the envelope.

First daughter Ivanka Trump, who has spent recent months involved in the debate on tax reform, did not mail her ballot until Election Day itself — meaning it would not have been counted.

Her effort was marginally better than that of her husband and White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, who reportedly did not even mail his back.

It is not clear who any of the Trump family attempted to vote for, although it is unlikely they voted for Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio — who won the race comfortably by a wide margin.

De Blasio has been a vocal critic of President Trump and the Trump administration as a whole, in particular in his opposition to Trump’s policies in relation to illegal immigration and securing the border.
