A gunman opened fire on two NYPD officers while they patrolled the rooftop of a Brooklyn building, shooting a door right as cops opened it, police said.

The officers were patrolling the rooftop of a Brooklyn housing development called the Stuyvesant Garden Houses, located on Gates Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood around 10:30 p.m. when they heard gunfire from across the way, the New York Daily News reported.

Police say they believe the shooter fired the shot from another rooftop.

None of the officers were shot or suffered injuries. Police conducted a search of the area to find the alleged gunman after hearing the gunfire, but could not find the suspect, officials say. The suspect is still at-large.

The officers conducted a “vertical patrol” of the same rooftop where two bystanders, Chynna Battle, 21, and Shaqwanda Staley, 29, were fatally shot by gang members on July 12.

Police found the alleged shooters connected with the July incident in South Carolina in November.
