President Donald Trump ordered the nation’s flag to be lowered to half-staff to honor the 17 shooting victims of the attack in Florida.

“Our Nation grieves with those who have lost loved ones in the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida,” Trump said in a proclamation, adding that it was a “mark of solemn respect” for the victims.

The suspected shooter was apprehended by law enforcement officials on Wednesday and has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.

The president will address the nation at 11:00 AM EST.
