President Donald Trump defended his administration’s “tremendous energy,” despite reports of turmoil among his staff.

“Believe me, everybody wants to work in the White House,” Trump said. “They all want a piece of the Oval Office, they want a piece of the West Wing.”

The president made his remarks during a press conference at the White House with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven.

Trump said he valued people at the White House with different points of view and the competitive nature of politics.

“It’s tough. I like conflict,” Trump said. “I like watching it. I like seeing it, and I think it is the best way to go.”

He boasted that he could choose anyone in the country to work at the White House and the top people would seek to work in his administration, but that some staff departures were inevitable.

“Everybody wants to be there and they love this White House because we have energy like rarely before,” he said.
