Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) told Bloomberg TV that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided “nothing new” in his speech about Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program.

In a press conference on Monday, Netanyahu revealed that they obtained a cache of Iranian secret files that allegedly demonstrate that Iran has maintained a secret nuclear weapons program. American intelligence officials reportedly confirmed the authenticity of the records that Israel obtained, calling them, “authentic.” Corker discounted the reports on Monday, arguing that Netanyahu provided “nothing new.”

In October, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders chastised Sen. Corker, accusing him of helping the Obama administration in passing the Iran deal.

Sanders said, “Senator Corker worked with Nancy Pelosi and the Obama administration to pave the way for that legislation and basically rolled out the red carpet for the Iran deal. Those are pretty factual.”

“He may have voted against the deal, ultimately, but he not only allowed the deal to happen, he gave it credibility,” Sanders added.

Breitbart News has reported that Sen. Corker was the “deciding vote” on the Iran deal, not former Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD).

Sen. Corker recently lavished praise on former Democrat Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen over Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) in the 2018 Senate midterm election, even suggesting that he will not campaign against the Democrat.

“I think he has got real appeal,” Corker said. Sen. Corker, a “Never Trump” Republican, announced that he will retire at the end of his Senate term. The Tennesee senator also described Bredesen as a “friend of mine” and a partner for more than two decades.

President Donald Trump has criticized Corker in the past, calling the retiring Republican senator, “Liddle’ Bob Corker.”

President Trump wrote in October, “The Failing @nytimes set Liddle’ Bob Corker up by recording his conversation. Was made to sound a fool, and that’s what I am dealing with!”
