A Restoration PAC poll released on Friday revealed that former Marine and business consultant Kevin Nicholson leads by 14 points in the Wisconsin Senate Republican primary.

The survey found that 28.3 percent of Wisconsin primary voters backed Nicholson, while only 14.2 percent supported his primary opponent, Leah Vukmir, a Wisconsin state senator. The poll, conducted by Hodas & Associates, suggested that 34.5 percent of Republican primary voters had a favorable impression of Nicholson, with a ten percent unfavorable rating. Vukmir had a 24 percent favorability rating, while 9.7 percent of Wisconsin Republicans had a negative view of Vukmir.

A poll conducted by Vukmir’s campaign had Nicholson polling at 32 percent, while Vukmir had 30 percent support, and another survey conducted by Wisconsin Next PAC had Vukmir leading at 36 percent to Nicholson’s 29 percent.

Great America PAC, a pro-Trump super PAC, endorsed Nicholson in October. FreedomWorks, the conservative activist group, endorsed Nicholson last October.

FreedomWorks President Adam Brandom said of Nicholson, “FreedomWorks for America is pleased to endorse Kevin Nicholson, who has served admirably, for the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by an opponent of fiscal responsibility and conservative values, Tammy Baldwin.”

Restoration PAC, who endorsed Nicholson for the Wisconsin GOP primary, has successfully backed other candidates, such as Montana state auditor Matt Rosendale and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrissey.

Restoration PAC is a non-partisan political action committee (PAC) that sponsors the election or defeat of candidates based upon their support for defeating the Islamic State (ISIS), reducing government spending, repealing Obamacare, and cracking down on illegal immigration.

In an interview with Breitbart News Sunday in January, Nicholson criticized Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), arguing that she puts the interests of illegal immigrants before Wisconsinites.

Nicholson said, “She believes that illegal immigration is more important than members of our military or CHIP, which is insane. You can say this for Tammy, she’s a true leftist believer. She’s to the far extreme of her own party, and she’s willing to put illegal immigrants before the interests of Wisconsin and those serving in uniform.”
