Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the senator who has spent his career railing against the rich and successful, made more than $1 million for the second year in a row, according to the senator’s most recent financial disclosure.

The progressive Vermont lawmaker’s financial disclosure report shows that he raked in more than $1 million for 2017—the second year in a row Sanders raked in more than a million dollars, the Vermont outlet VT Digger reported Friday.

Sanders made most of his income—$885,767—from royalties and cash advances.  He made $306,000 in royalties from his 2016 campaign book Our Revolution, which chronicled Sanders’ failed attempt at winning the Democratic primary in the 2016 election and his political ideas that aided Sanders in challenging Hillary Clinton’s bid for the Democratic nomination.

But the bulk of the progressive senator’s earnings in 2017 came from a $505,000 advance from his publisher St. Martin’s Press. The publisher paid him the advance to write an upcoming book called Where We Go From Here, which is scheduled to be released in fall 2018.

Political observers say the book is meant to quell speculation about Sanders’ plans for 2020.

The Vermont senator also received a $5,137 pension from the city of Burlington, Vermont, from when he served as its mayor in the 1980s, stock options, retirement and mutual funds, and his $174,000 per year Senate salary—which is not listed on the disclosure form.

Sanders’ reported income for 2017 is on par with his earnings from 2016. Last year, Breitbart News reported that the self-described socialist raked in $1,052,000.
