Police: Woman Arrested for Driving with Ex-Boyfriend Clinging to Car's Hood

Authorities arrested a 24-year-old woman Sunday for driving on a highway in Miami, Florida, with a man clinging to the hood of her car, police said.

Patresha Denise Isidore, the car’s driver, told WSVN that the incident began when her ex-boyfriend—who had been living with her—refused to let her leave their home to pick up her daughter.

When he refused to leave, he jumped on the car’s hood, and she just kept driving—even as she allegedly barreled down Interstate 95 in Miami at 70 miles per hour.

“I had to get my child, so I wasn’t going to deal with any foolishness,” Isidore said.

Isidore’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Junior Francis, told WPLG that he was the man clinging to the vehicle, and mentioned that the couple shares custody of their five-year-old daughter. Francis added that his relationship with his ex is complicated.

Daniel Midah, 19, was driving on the highway when he spotted the scene and began capturing the incident on video.

Midah’s girlfriend sitting in the passenger seat took the wheel while Midah filmed the encounter with his cellphone. Midah told WPLG that the woman and the man on the vehicle’s hood appeared to be speaking to each other through cellphones as the car was going 70 mph.

“All I was thinking is, this guy is going to slide off and hit me, slide off the other side or if anything, he is going to slide down and she is going to hit him, and then she is going to crash into somebody else,” Midah said.

Isidore, who has since been released from jail, is facing one misdemeanor count of culpable negligence, according to Broward County court records obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
