Two workers were critically wounded Tuesday morning when shots were fired outside an elementary school in Overland Park, Kansas.

The wounded individuals were working on the school’s playground when the shots were fired.

NBC News reports that “no children were at the school” when the shooting occurred. The outlet also reports that the shooting suspect is believed to have been involved in an earlier carjacking and a separate, unsuccessful carjacking.

According to KSHB, the shooting suspect escaped, and police are looking for a white male “in a black GMC Denali SUV.” The Denali was stolen via a carjacking at 148th Street and Metcalf Avenue.

Police indicate three crime scenes related to the shooting: 1) the school grounds, 2) the site of the carjacking, and 3) the site of an unsuccessful carjacking.
