Grandmother Shoots Man Allegedly Breaking into Her Home While Masturbating

A Texas grandmother shot a man who was allegedly masturbating and trying to break into her

A grandmother in Houston, Texas, shot a suspect in the chest Tuesday who was allegedly masturbating while trying to break into her home.

The Houston Chronicle reported that the grandmother was taking out her trash shortly after 5:00 p.m. when she saw the suspect allegedly riding a bicycle while masturbating. The grandmother “yelled at [the suspect] to stop the lewd act but he persisted.”

The suspect allegedly approached the front door of the house and tried to break in after the grandmother went back inside. The grandmother retrieved her firearm and “ordered the man to go away,” but he did not comply. She then “fired one round through her front door, striking the man in his chest.”

Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson said the suspect ran to the bicycle after being shot and pedaled a few feet before collapsing.

Crowson indicated that the suspect, who was out on bond on a previous exposure charge, is expected to survive.

One of the grandmother’s neighbors said, “I would have done the same thing if it were my house. Ain’t no telling what else he was going to do or what he’s got. She was protecting her property.”
