Hoosier businessman Mike Braun told Breitbart News in a press conference on Thursday that Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) leaking of confidential emails relating to Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh will “backfire on the Democratic Party and Joe Donnelly.”
Sen. Booker violated Judiciary Committee rules, which chairman Grassley said could lead to his being expelled from the U.S. Senate. Garrett Ventry, a communications adviser for the Judiciary Committee, said Booker never mentioned these emails nor did he try to work with Senate Judiciary chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) regarding these emails:

Josh Kelley, Braun’s campaign spokesman, said in a statement on Thursday:
While Senator Donnelly waits for liberal permission to support Judge Kavanaugh, voters deserve to know if he agrees with Senator Booker’s decision to release confidential information. Donnelly needs to tell Hoosiers if he will hold his liberal allies accountable for their unprecedented and orchestrated disruptions, or if he stands with their radical behavior.
Braun chastised the Democrat-backed “antics,” interruptions, and leftist protesters on Tuesday and Wednesday, saying, “When you watch the sort of antics going on … you want to cut through the chase and not go through this song and dance.”
Senate Democrats interrupted the hearing more than 60 times in the first hour, and U.S. Capitol Police arrested more than 22 protesters. On Wednesday, 26 protesters interrupted Kavanaugh during the first 30 minutes of the hearing.
Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) confirmed during the hearing on Tuesday that he, along with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other Democrats, orchestrated the disruptions with leftist protesters during the weekend.
Neither Sen. Donnelly nor any of the other red-state Democrats replied to Breitbart News’s question asking if they support Schumer’s plan to interrupt and disrupt the Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
Braun told Breitbart News on Tuesday, “He is basically a puppet, and Chuck Schumer is the puppeteer.”
Sen. Donnelly said on Thursday that every day the Indiana Democrat delays deciding if he will back Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court reveals he is going along with Schumer’s strategy to delay President Donald Trump’s confirmation for the nation’s highest court.
Braun charged, “I think every day that Joe Donnelly remains on the sideline, it shows Hoosiers that his campaign and his decisions are orchestrated by Chuck Schumer.”
Schumer said in July that for as long as possible, vulnerable Senate Democrats should hold off deciding if they will support Kavanaugh.
Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) said, “All Chuck ever says in caucus [meetings], it’s pretty well known: ‘Keep your powder dry. Don’t commit. Stay as neutral as you can, as long as you can.’”
A survey released Wednesday reveals that the race between Braun and Donnelly for the U.S. Senate is close and within the margin of error.
Braun told Breitbart News that he said Hoosiers deserve to know what Sen. Donnelly thinks about Booker’s leaking of confidential emails relating to Kavanaugh’s experience in the George W. Bush White House.
“I think what Sen. Booker said, I would love to hear Joe Donnelly’s comments about it,” Braun said. “I think that we all know that he would follow through on it. He risks expulsion from the Senate, and I think Joe Donnelly will not tell Hoosiers in the Senate whether he will hold his liberal ally in the Senate accountable for releasing confidential information.”
“I think it will backfire on the Democratic Party and Joe Donnelly,” Braun said.
