Elmo and Friends Salute Military Families

Elmo doesn’t spend all of his spare time on “Sesame Street.”

The iconic red muppet and some of his pals are currently on the road as part of The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families tour.

The eight-month trek across the U.S., expected to visit more than 65 military installations, is designed to help military families by helping children process relocation measures that are often part of a service member’s lifestyle.

The bus tour kicked off at Scott Air Force Base on April 7 and features Katie, a new Muppet pal who experiences the stress of moving just like many of the children she’ll meet along the way through November. The Muppet crew will perform more than 235 30-minute shows to help children process current and future moves and remind them they’ll meet new friends along the way.
