Clooney's Obama Fundraiser Causes Traffic Nightmare

The 99 percenters who can’t afford a ticket to George Clooney’s posh fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election tonight can experience some of the soiree without paying a penny.

They’ll enjoy the Hollywood-sized traffic snarl expected this evening:

Officials warn Obama’s visit to the San Fernando Valley will probably snarl rush-hour traffic in and around Studio City.

Obama will be attending a dinner fundraiser at Clooney’s Studio City home, a party expected to gross $15 million for the president’s reelection campaign, according to organizers.

Details on street closures were released on Twitter by Councilman Paul Krekorian, who represents the area.

Motorists driving on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and adjacent streets north of Ventura Boulevard can expect delays and/or street closures from 5 p.m to 8 p.m.

“If you live south of Ventura in Studio City … local access to the area will be virtually sealed off from about 8 to 10 p.m., meaning all local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access,”Krekorian said in a letter.
