Actress Ellen Burstyn is pretty busy these days, starring in the new USA Network drama “Political Animals” and the upcoming cable remake of the ’70s thriller “Coma.”
But she took the time recently to bash presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney in ways that could earn her a spot on President Obama’s surrogate list. She appeared on Current TV earlier this week to share her thoughts on the current political climate.
Naturally, she raved over Obama and had pretty harsh words for his opponent:
“I don’t think [Romney] tells the truth. I think he makes stuff up,” Burstyn said during an appearanceon “The War Room with Jennifer Granholm” on Thursday. “I daresay he lies.”
“And I find it kind of smarmy, I do,” she added.
