Mariah Carey Takes Over as New Judge at 'American Idol'

Pop star Mariah Carey is taking over at the troubled TV talent show “American Idol” after Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and pop diva Jennifer Lopez quit as judges.

Lopez and Tyler announced earlier this month their departure from the show, which is struggling against rival “The Voice” on NBC.
